Scope of Works

Our team provided a comprehensive civil and structural engineering solution. The scope included:

  • Demolition & Excavation: Demolition of existing structures and bulk excavation, reshaping the site with over 50,000 cubic meters of soil and material removed.
  • Piling & Foundations: Installation of driven piles to stabilise foundations for heavy silo structures near the watercourse.
  • Silo Bases, Retaining Walls & Concrete Slabs: High-strength concrete slabs, retaining walls for ground level management, and reinforced bases capable of significant load handling.
  • Roadworks & Drainage: Development of roadways and installation of a robust drainage system to manage surface water runoff, ensuring environmental compliance.
  • Service Ducts & Utilities: Installation of power, water, and data infrastructure, including trenching and ducting beneath newly constructed roadways and slabs.
  • Office & Welfare Building: Construction of a steel-framed office and welfare facility with raft foundations, external cladding, and complete M&E services.

Challenges and Solutions

  • Tidal Conditions: Working near the watercourse required precise scheduling of tasks around low tide periods and temporary cofferdams to prevent water ingress.
  • Environmental Management: Comprehensive measures ensured protection of the sensitive marine environment, including runoff filtration and waste management plans.
  • Coordination of Multiple Trades: Integrated project management tools and regular site meetings streamlined coordination among piling contractors, M&E specialists, and other trades.
